Housekeeper

Reports to: Head of Housekeeping

Classification: Seasonal, Part-Time, Non-Exempt


Summary

The primary objective of the Housekeeper is be responsible for taking care of a building's general cleanliness and assigned areas to provide tidy and sanitary amenities to guests. Their duties include cleaning floors, making beds, and dusting surfaces throughout the facility to the company standards

Essential Functions

  • Cleans facility areas including, but not limited to, guestrooms, lobby, corridors, elevators, laundry facility, house laundry, stairways, exterior, etc. according to company standards and within required time frames.
  • Understand company policy on work shifts, guest possessions, and privacy issues
  • Provide basic housekeeping duties including changing the sheets, changing and arranging the towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting, and rearranging the room after guest check out.
  • Report and return any guest properties found in the rooms while rendering service.
  • Report cases of property damage to the supervisor
  • Clean, disinfect and store all equipment at the end of the shift
  • Monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies
  • Respond to calls for housekeeping problems, such as spills and broken glass
  • Collect and remove trash and debris and transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
  • Assist with laundry management, including washing, drying, ironing, and storing linen
  • The report, turn in, and log all lost and found items
  • Strictly adheres to safety & security policies to ensure personal safety, the safety of the guest and their belongings, and company property.
  • Use all materials, chemicals, and tools safely to avoid injury, waste, unnecessary damage, or accidents.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • At least one year of experience with housekeeping
  • Attention to detail
  • Physical ability to work extended periods
